Jar of Whimsies

These are the little items I crafted to include in my package for the Jar of Whimsies Swap.  Whimsies can be just about anything small fun.  I sent quite a few teeny tiny store bought items but also had to include some handmade things.

Ribbon and Paperclip Bookmarks.

A wrap bracelet using hollow plastic tubing, beads, and charms

A Resin Pendant with a sweet bunny and rose.

Ring, Earrings, and Hair Pin using brass and resin flowers.

Craftster Hoopla Along January

I made this hoop for the Monthly Hoopla Along on Craftster.  The theme for January was To the Moon and Back.  I used A LOT of satin stitching on this hoop along with some back stitches, split stitches, and the stem stitch. I am trying to use new stitches rather than doing the same old back stitch all the time.
I ended up sending the hoopla away to a fellow Craftster for a swap rather than keeping it for myself.

Tone Body Wash Review

I participate in campaigns for BzzAgent which means I get to try out new products that they send me.  Recently I was chosen to try out the new Tone Pink Peony & Rose Oil Body Wash.  Now I am usually a Bath and Bodyworks kind of girl but this body wash is a game changer for me.  It smells SO good!  It has a really great lather and leaves my skin feeling so soft when I get out of the shower.  They have a great variety of scents and products available from the body washes to hand soaps.  The next one I want to try is the Daily Detox with White Clay & Pink Jasmine.  The one and only thing that I can find lacking is they don't offer lotions that match the body wash scents.  So next time you are out shopping look for Tone products and give them a try!  You won't be disappointed.

*I received this product for free from BzzAgent to try and offer my opinion on it.

DIY Dollar Store Candy Bouquets

I went to the grocery store and saw they had these gorgeous candy bouquets in the floral department.  I thought that would be a unique and fun gift for my kids.  Well not so much at $20-$30 each!  So I thought to myself, I can make those!  I went to the Dollar Store and bought my supplies.  Please excuse my horrid photos as they were taken in my room since I don't want my kids to see what I am making them

Gather your supplies:
You will need:
A Basket or vase
Floral Foam
Tissue Paper
Candy (I used the snack size)
Craft sticks
Tape
I also added some pencils and heart picks

Tape a craft stick to the back of each candy bar

Take two pieces of tissue paper and place your craft foam in the middle.  Place the foam in the basket and use the inner sheet of paper to completely cover/hide the foam

Start sticking your candy sticks in to hold the tissue paper down.

 Here is your finished basket!

I made three of these for under $25 and still have some candy left over.  They were very simple to make and a much more cost effective option than the premade ones in the store!  The kids loved them.  Success!!

Valentine Shrines

Blogging has taken a backseat for a while but I have been crafting away.  I need to get back to sharing it.
I made these three Valentines Fairy Shrines recently.  Two of them are for a swap with Retro Cafe Art Gallery and one was sent to a partner in a swap on Craftster.
I bought the shrine kits from Retro Cafe Art along with a some of the embellishments.  The rest came from my stash.  I used a mix of paints, stamps, papers, washi tape, and inks on all three shrines.  This was actually the first time I have used my stamps to add some depth and layers to my projects.  As always I feel like I learn a little something new with every altered object I make and I am enjoying the process more and more.
