Raptor and Names Hooplas

These two hooplas were made for a claim I made in the Ongoing Pinterest Swap.  My partner had pinned the Clever Girl hoop from dandeliondog.  Since I didn't want to completely copy the original I didn't do all the lovely designs around the raptor.  I still wanted to have a little something extra so did I some of the lines around her head in purple.  I loved Jurassic Park the book and the movie.  This was one of my favorite parts/lines in the movie and so I had a hard time sending this away.

The second hoop was also pinned and has her and her sweeties name.

I used a back stitch on both with a wee bit of satin stitch on the raptor.

Button Wall Art

Without Flash

This was made for a swap (sorry I can't remember which right now) I used my new Silhouette Cameo to cut out the tree shape using contact paper.  I applied the contact paper then painted the canvas blue.  Once it was dry Landon and I glued the green buttons on.

The recipient told me that it matched the colors of the room it was going in perfectly.  I really like how it turned out and love that I was able to use my Silhouette.  There is definitely a learning curve to using that thing!

Neither of the two pics I took turned out well sorry!

PEEP Cupcakes

I really wanted to make this Easter cake I saw on Pinterest that involved Peeps and Easter colored M&M's.  I could only find these yellow PEEPS and no M&M's at the store I went to so I made cupcakes instead.
These are pretty self explanatory....Strawberry cupcake, dollop of frosting and a PEEP.  Easy Peasy but super cute.

Ladder Stitch Wrap Bracelet

This a Chan Lu style wrap bracelet that I made for the March Birthday's Swap.  I have seen a ton of these floating around on blogs and Pinterest.  They are really versatile since you can use any bead and thread colors that you want and you can make them wrap as many times as you want.  I have found that the longer the bracelet (more wraps) the harder it is to control all the pieces.

You will have to learn the ladder stitch in order to pull this bracelet off.  The tutorial I used is from Lima Beads.  Once you get the hang of it it's pretty easy.
