Easy Peasy Felt Garland

It started with this....

And very quickly ended with this....
A super easy felt garland.  You can cut the circles and big or as little as you choose.  You can also choose any colors that you want.
Cut out your circles, decide on the pattern you want, and then run them through your machine one right after the other.  Select a coordinating ribbon to sew on to each end to hang.
With the all the cutting the whole project took under an hour to complete.  See easy peasy!

The orginal inspiration came from Living With Punks.

Landon's Birthday

Landon's Birthday party was last weekend. We had a bounce house, cotton candy, spin art, a pinata, and a TON of kids. Everything went pretty smoothly and everyone had lots of fun. I stupidly didn't get any photos of him with his giant cake from Costco (I only had a bite and it was good) or with the pinata....
Also there are a few random pics thrown in mix things up a bit :)

Bracelets

It seems like it's been a while since I have made jewelry.  I made two claims in the Ongoing Wish Swap for different bracelets.  The first was silver charm bracelet and since I have a TON of silver tone charms I was able to stash bust for this one.  The only theme was silver so I was able to use quite an assortment of charms.  It is on it's way to Canada and I hope it's well loved by the recipiant.

The second was for a cupcake charm bracelet using poly clay cupcakes.  Well since I can only make cute poly clay items in my dreams I had to purchase some from this shop on  Etsy.  These were the perfect rainbow cupcakes and lucky for me I have some left over that I can use to make earrings or some such thing.

iPop

A PopTart iPod Cozy that I made for the Ongoing Wish Swap.  It was on the persons wish list and the inspiration was this Craftster post.  I made a few modification such as a button closure to keep it closed,

and a pocket inside to hold some ear buds when not in use.
My partner received and says she loves it!  I quite like it too!  Makes me wish my iPod hadn't been stolen, maybe it's time to finally go buy a new one.

Landon My Not So Baby Anymore Baby

Six? Really? How did this happen? How did my baby get to be six already??

Being pregnant with him was so different than with his sister. I got A LOT bigger A LOT faster! He moved around so much more and I was really uncomfortable most of the nine months. I remember going in for my ultrasound and the cheer that went up from family and friends when we were told it’s a BOY!!! I was nervous, a boy? What am I going to do with a boy??? They like sports, and cars, and other boy stuff that I know nothing about. They don’t have as cute of clothes. They have extra parts….

I wasn’t as scared for him to be born seeing as how I had gone through this once before. Unfortunately I had to be put to sleep for the birth so I didn’t get to hear that first cry. The first time I saw him he was clean, wrapped up, and quiet. 6lbs 7oz of perfect little boy with the cutest little cleft chin.

He was such an easy baby.  He slept all the time and for good long stretches.  He ate, burped, and pooped
During the first year he developed some picky eating habits, turned into a Mama’s boy, and refused to crawl or walk!  In fact he didn’t walk until he was about 1 ½ years old!!
Being an easy baby he grew into a pretty laid back and happy toddler.
Now all of a sudden I have a preschooler!  I am always so awed that I helped to create this super smart, curious, cute little boy.
And here we are at six.  It’s very bittersweet really.  The bitter part?  My baby isn’t a baby anymore.  I have noticed lately how he isn’t as snuggly anymore and he doesn’t want as many hugs and kisses as before.  The sweet part?  Watching my wonderful son grow into such a sweet, smart, cute kid that everyone loves.  He is so funny and I wonder all the time where he comes up with all the crazy things that come out of his mouth!
I hope that you always stay curious and continue to want to learn. I also kinda hope that you will stay a little bit of a mama’s boy for the rest of your life. (Don’t worry you don’t have to tell anyone) You are such a special boy and you bring me so much happiness. My life feels complete with you and your sister. I am 99.9% sure that there will be no more babies for me and I am going to miss all those things I won’t get to experience again. I am so lucky I got to do them all twice!
Thank you for being my son. I love you Bubsy….

I Spy With My Little Eye

So last week my little honey Adia came down with a nasty stomach bug which equaled 4 days of down time for both of us.  Between cleaning her up, bringing in Sprite, crackers, and toast I had time to do a few things.  First, I watched all the shows I had saved up on my DVR.  Second, I watched all three Twilight movies and am ashamed to admit I actually enjoyed the 2nd and 3rd installments.  Third, I cleaned.  A Lot.  I even washed walls.  There is really only so much TV I can handle.  Once the house was clean I crafted.
I had wanted to make each of my kids an I Spy quilt for Christmas and only got as far as purchasing the squares and sewing them together for Landons blanket.  Well I had lots of time on my hands so I finished Landon's quilt and will give it to him for his birthday.
I have never done anything like this before so I kinda made up sewing the back and edges as I went along.  It worked out pretty well.  I see the flaws but now know what to do better next time.
Well I didn't expect to be home again with Adia on Thursday and so I made her quilt too!  This one I did from start to finish all on Thursday.  The squares are a bit more evenly done as is the edging.  This picture isn't as good but you can still get the idea.
My hope is that my kids will keep these and maybe pass them on to their kids!

I think I love these quilts and would like to make another smaller version for a friend who is having a baby.  I gotta go see how many squares of fabric I have left or else swap for some more!

Drop a Love Bomb

Once a week we come together to drop a Love Bomb (in the form of blog comments) for those who need some love.
It doesn't take much time and costs nothing to send a little online love to someone in need.

This week the Love Bomb is going out to Sonia. Please visit her blog You Win Some You Lose Some and leave a comment.
Sonia is going through something that I couldn't even imagine.  Actually I don't choose to even think about things like this but it does happen.  Every day, and yes it could happen to me or you.  Sonia is a single mother who's 4 year old daughter Ann has a brain tumor.  There is no cure and it is not responding to treatment.  She is currently in hospice care.  So please even if you don't leave a comment at least send some love, prayers, good juju, or whatever you believe in their way.

Also if you would like to recieve Love Bomb emails once a week please sign up here.

You Like Me! You Really, Really Like Me!!!

Thank you Brooke over at Mommy Does.... for giving me the Stylish blogger Award!

It's so awesome to know that others are reading my blog and actually like what I have to share.

Brooke claims to be newish to blogging but you can't tell!  She has tons of follwers and gets to post about some amazing things.  Thank you again Brooke I am super flattered!!

To accept this Award you must:
1. Thank and link back to the person (in my case, persons) who awarded you this award.
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Award 15 recently discovered great bloggers.
4. Contact these bloggers and tell them about the award!

So 7 Things about myself:
(Oh this is going to be hard, I hate talking about myself)
1.  I really enjoy making things and being able to share them.  I actually wish I had more time to do it!

2. I feel like I am a Jill of all Trades, Master of none!  I think if I was to concentrate and only do one thing then I would be really, really good at that one thing but instead I am kinda good at a lot of things.  (I like it better that way anyhow)

3. I am a mama to two fabulous kids.  They drive me crazy with their constant bickering but I wouldn't trade either of them for anything.  They fill my life with so much love, laughter, snuggles, smiles, hugs, and kisses.  Who could ask for more?

4. Well I didn't really ask for more but I have been very lucky to find someone special to share my life with.  I swore to myself (and others) that I would never get married again after my divorce and while I am still not married he makes me second guess the no marrige promise.

5. I am a super picky eater.  It's so bad that if a recipe even calls for something that I don't like (such as 1 Tbsp of mustard) I probably won't make it.  It's usually better for me not to know what is in something, especially if I like it!

6. When I get stressed out I like to clean.  Especially running the vacume.  For whatever reason it really calms me down.

7.  I love tattoos and body piercings.  I am jealous of younger people who are able to have their lips pierced, visible tattoos, and funky colored hair.  I do have 9 tattoos and a few piercings but not as many as I would like.  I have a professional job that won't allow me to really fly my freak flag!

Now to Nominate 15 more wonderful blogs to share in this award
All these blogs have inspired me in one way or another in the past year or so.  So much artsy, craftsy, yumsy good stuff.  I hope you find a new blog or two that interests you from this list!

Armed with Pointy Objects

Whew!  I am kind of glad that all the holidays are behind us.  Sad that I don't have another day off from my day job until Easter though.  Anyway I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year.  I am excited to get started on my resolutions which include working out and eating better so expect some healthy recipes coming soon.
I had said to myself that I was going to take a break from crafting and concentrate on catching up on some reading so in the last two weeks I haven't crafted and I have read 4 books!  I really recommend the Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins.  But I have also signed up for two craft swaps!!! Who I am I kidding?  Not craft ha, it never lasts long.

I have been waiting to post these two projects until after the holiday madness even though they were both made for holiday swaps.  I can embroider some and these are two of my most recent projects.

I love my Gnomies!  Don't you?
This project is a combination of embroidery and felt applique.
Mmmm cupcakes!  I wouldn't mind taking a bite out of this cutie cupcake who was all hand emboidered.

Both of these patterns were purchased from Urban Threads.  This site has great tutorials, designs, and freebies!
