Hufflepuff Stenciled Shirt

I just finished up with the Book Lovers Swap.  My partner said she loves Harry Potter and her house is Hufflepuff.  I decided to make her a stenciled shirt with a badger to represent her house!

I tried to find the right shade of yellow for the shirt then I cut out my badger stencil.  I chose not to place it right in the middle of the shirt as you can see.

Here is a close up.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the stencil out of freezer paper. I then used Tulip Soft Fabric Paint to color it all in.

Reading is Sexy

I made this hoop in the Old Fashioned Book Lovers Swap.  She had mentioned she would like pin up style librarians and this is what I came up with.  I cut the silhouette out of some felt and sewed it on then stamped out the words.  I made a shirt like this quite a few years ago too.  I think I need something like this for myself seeing as how I am quite the bookworm myself.

Valentine Shrine

I made this shrine for my partner in the Sweet & Easy Valentines Day Swap.  She said that she loves shrines and I knew I wanted to make her one.  I ordered all the supplies from Retro Cafe Art.  They have a huge variety of shrines and collage pages.  I love this shrine just as much as the Dia De Los Muertos one I did a few months back.  I see myself making many more of these in the future!

Foodie Friday-Spaghetti Squash

I really like spaghetti squash in place of noodles.  In fact one of my favorite Italian places offers it as an option rather than noodles.  I found these squashes at the $1 store and decided I had to try to use them at home.  I cut my squash in half and scooped out the seeds.  Then I sprayed them with a little bit of olive oil and sprinkled on some garlic salt.  They were then roasted at 375 for about 30 minutes.  Let me tell you how good these things made my house smell!

Once they were out of the oven I used a fork to shred the squash then just stuck it in the fridge.

Later that week when everyone else had fettucini I had my spaghetti squash with some olive oil, garlic, and chicken.  It was really good!  The squash doesn't really taste like spaghetti but it tastes really fresh and has a nice texture.  Plus it's low fat and low in carbs!

Valentines Day Jewelry

I joined the Sweet & Easy Valentines Swap and was paired with a partner from Ireland.  She said she preferred to receive more useful things rather than knicknacks.  So of course I had to make some jewelry!  I wanted it to be wearable year long so I didn't make it to "Valentiney"  I did choose to use some traditional colors though.

This bracelet was inspired by a new jewelry line called Shortcuts that I saw at Michaels.  You buy the bracelets and necklaces then can buy tons of different interchangeable attachments to personalize your look.  I purchased the leather bracelet but made my own attachment with beads and an ice cream sundae charm.

Next up is a set of jewelry featuring a winged heart.  My partner mentioned really liking hearts with wings.

Finally a bracelet and necklace set.  I had intended to only make a bracelet but had some extra charms and decided to make a matching pendant.  This is probably my favorite of the bunch.
