Halloween Crafty Roundup

Here are the final few crafted items I sent to my partner in the 13 Days of Halloween Swap.  I had so much fun with this swap and can't wait to do it again next year.

I made her a spider facsinator and a brooch out of feathers, black leaves, and plastic spiders

Here we have a small sized spooky wreath that I made from a kit I purchases at Oriental Trading company

Last but not least is a Halloween bracelet and pumpkin earrings made from lampwork beads.  I love this set!  I need to make more of the pumpkin earrings for Adia and I.

I hope everyone has a safe Halloween!

Foodie Friday-Pineapple Angel Food Cake

It really doesn't get ANY easier than this.  1 box of angel food cake mix and 1 can of crushed pineapple.  Combine the dry mix with the pineapple, spread in a cake pan, and bake at 350 for 30 minutes.  So easy and so good!

I found this recipe on Pinterest via Dawn's Quilt Corner

Frankie, Jack, & Boo

This Halloween wall hanging was made for my partner in the 13 Days of Halloween Swap.  I used thin wooden coasters, acrylic paint, and some holiday themed ribbon.  I am not an artist by any means but I decided to just draw the faces on by hand.  I know they are really simple designs but I am still happy with the results!  After the paint was dry I glued a ribbon down the back of each and tied a knot at the top for hanging.

Foodie Friday-Cinnamon Roll Pancakes

Mmmmm the taste of a Cinnamon Roll inside a pancake??? I have been wanting to try these out ever since I saw them on Pinterest and finally got around to it last weekend.
These are really easy to make especially if you cheat like me and use a pancake mix and a can cream cheese frosting for the glaze.  As with most things on Pinterest mine didn't turn out looking quite like the pinned image but they still tasted good.  They are very rich and very filling.  Definitely not an everyday breakfast item!

Halloween Countdown

This is a Countdown to Halloween that was made for my partner in the 13 Days of Halloween mini swap.

I made this using a pie tin from the $1 Store, Halloween Papers, Round Tins, and Magnets.  I Mod Podged the paper to the bottom of the tin then used small strips along the edges.  Using my 1 inch hole punch I created the circles which fit perfectly into the tins.  There are 13 numbered tins and each holds a small surprise.  It can be refilled and reused every year!

This can be done using a cookie sheet which would allow for all 31 days of October to be on there.

Foodie Friday-Summer Pasta Salad

I made this super yummy and fresh tasting pasta salad for a family potluck over the weekend. I know it's technically fall but here in the South it still feels like summer!  Trust me I am READY for some real fall weather.  This salad is really easy to make and really tastes light and fresh.  I found the recipe at Budget Bytes and had to do a little tweaking.  I used a smaller pasta, steamed my veggies before adding them, and didn't have any oregano so I added some grated Parmesan cheese instead.

I made the salad the day before so the flavors could mingle but for some reason you couldn't really taste the vinaigrette.  Next time I am going to double that portion of the recipe.

Pumpkin House

This little pumpkin house was made for my partner in the Mini 13 Days of Halloween Swap.  It features a little mouse witch with her spell book, cauldron, and pet cat.

A closer view shows some more of the details.  I had a Halloween themed ATC that I received years ago in some swap or another and used it as wall decor.  I also found a tiny little wreath.

I also put a little strobe light on the roof for a spooky night effect.  It is meant to go into a jack o lantern.  My sweets had the idea to use velcro to put it up so that the batteries can be changed if needed.

I ended up not being happy with the paint on the walls of the pumpkin but I had already "installed" everything and couldn't change it.  Other than that one thing I really love how it turned out!

This pumpkin was inspired by one made by that artist woman and pinned by my partner.  You can see the original here

Foodie Friday-Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies turned out so good!  They really were so moist and actually stayed that way for a week!  It makes a HUGE batch of cookies though so you may want to half it unless you are planning on giving some away.  I didn't even think to halve it and had cookies coming out of my ears!  Luckily all my neighbors were happy to take some off my hands.

I found and followed the recipe from Kirbie's Cravings.  Thanks so much Kirbie for sharing!!!

I'm Watching You

A Googly Eye Frame made for the Mini 13 Days of Halloween Swap.  I think these look like monster eyes because of the colors.  All it needs now is a spooky picture.
