It's the new year, time for new beginnings....

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday season. Mine was hectic of course and a little strange what with splitting up time with the kids. Not having the kids on Christmas day was very strange but went better than I thought it would. I kept busy which helped keep my mind off it. It was the same deal as not having Adia on her actual birthday this year. I guess I better get used to it since this is how things are going to be for now on. I just don't like to share!!!

The kids had a good Christmas and were spoiled by everyone as usual. I always dread this time of year because I never know what to do with all the presents. I scaled back on what I bought them both because we have no room and because money is tighter this year. They still got a ton of stuff, lots of it has been put away and will remain unopened until a later date. I love to put things away and they forget about them, then when I finally pull it out it's like getting a brand new toy all over again!!! This is also good if I need something to distract them for more than five minutes at a time. All in all I am VERY glad that Christmas is done for another year. Landon can't stop talking about Santa though, so I continue to milk the be a good boy or Santa won't come. I will continue to milk it for as long as I can too.....
We rang in the new year with friends and I have hopes that this year will be better than last year. I know there will be new stresses to deal with that come along with all the changes that have been made but I think (hope) that things will work out. I didn't make any resolutions since I never keep them anyway, I just hope to be able to meet all these new challenges head on and hopefully not be so stressed! We shall see. 2009 is definitely a new start for me.

With all the holiday craziness I have let my crafting fall to the wayside and I really need to get at it again. It seems to help destress me and keeps me busy. I have signed up for three low stress swaps. Another Altoid tin with a Valentines day theme, a raffle style swap, and an owl themed swap. I have ideas mapped out for all three of them and am going to get started tonight. I will post pictures of what gets made at a later date.

I am also going to try to start working out. It's hard cause I have to do it in the mornings and I have such a hard time dragging my lazy butt out of bed. Especially this time of year when it's still dark and cold. I need to start dreaming of a bikini ready body or something! Someone please send some motivation my way! I have lost 12 pounds since the split, not sure how that happened but whoo hoo all the same! My jeans are all too big, which is not such a bad thing. Too bad I can't afford to go buy new ones!!
