While I have always love the artwork, I have recently really started to appreciate Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) as a holidaytoo. It is a day to honor and remember those who we have lost. It doesn't seem to be a somber day though but rather a celebration of their lives.
I decided to participate in the Dia De Los Muertos swap on Craftster. For my partner I made this mini shrine. It's about 5-6 inches tall and depicts a skeletal couple. I really loved the way this shrine turned out and had a very hard time sending it away!
I would love to dedicate a shelf on my bookcase to display shrines and other artwork to celebrate next year.
